" Nobody rewards us for being normal " - Hugh Howey "The Silo"

I won't deny that I picked up this series after it was adapted into a TV series (a very successful one, incidentally) on a streaming platform. However, before the first season ended, I had the luxury of experiencing the entire story contained in these three books.

Imagine the world outside is uninhabitable, and humanity has been locked away in a multi-story underground building called a "Silos." Imagine that the people locked there have their own dreams, ambitions, and emotions.

A ready-made recipe for a barrel of TNT, where the punishment for insubordination is to go outside and die in terrible agony...

We see this entire story through the eyes of the new sheriff, a former mechanic whose priority is fixing the broken mechanism. In this case, the "mechanism" is the Silo.

I invite you to walk through all the floors of the "Silos" – from the lowest to the highest levels.

And as always, at the end we'll check what other readers think about this book.

"Silos" captivates from the very first page. The author skillfully portrays life in a closed community, where any decision can lead to disaster. The atmosphere of unease grows from chapter to chapter, and the characters are exceptionally believable and emotional. As the layers of the plot unfold, the reader increasingly understands the workings of this world and begins to grasp its brutal rules. This is one of those books that's hard to put down.

For me, "Silos" is one of the best dystopias of recent years. The book is full of tension, emotion, and brilliantly described characters, and the concept of the underworld works flawlessly. Each chapter adds a new piece to the puzzle, until the whole thing finally comes together into a truly moving and powerful story. This is a book that not only entertains and captivates but also forces you to reflect on how easily society can be manipulated. For me, it's an absolute top-notch read and a must-read.

"Silos" is a great choice for dystopian fans who enjoy a slow build of tension and a world full of secrets. Hugh Howey creates a claustrophobic and depressing, yet fascinating, setting. The book's greatest strength lies in the way it unfolds, but the pacing is uneven, and there are moments where the action loses steam. Despite this, it's a solid read that leaves you with a lot to think about, and it's worth giving it a chance.

Howey has created a vision of the future that is both terrifying and fascinating. The world of the Silo lives at its own pace, with each level harboring new stories and conflicts. The plot unfolds thoughtfully, and even when the pace slows, you feel it's leading to something important. The surprises are truly powerful, and the growing sense of danger makes it hard to put down. This is a nuanced and deeply emotional story about hope, control, and the fight for truth.
