"I broke him. I made Gotham kneel" - Batman: Knightfall


Since we had the death of Superman, we can't fail to mention the second milestone in DC history.

A series that tells the story of Bane's quest to bring down the Dark Knight and take over Gotham.

Bruce Wayne in a situation where he cannot continue his mission, his successor Azrael, and many other plot threads have become permanent fixtures in comic book history, and the scenes of Bane's fight with Batman in the Batcave have become iconic.

A story I devoured right after it was published in Poland, and for a long time, I waited for some resolution, because how could Gotham exist without Batman?

The fall of Batman shook Gotham, but also its readers – let's see now what others think about this story:

One of the most important Batman stories ever created. Bane as an antagonist is terrifyingly consistent, and Batman's fall is depicted in a truly powerful and memorable way. It reads like a true comic book epic about the limits of heroism.
