Father Józef Tischner, in a very accessible and humorous way, explains the origins of philosophy, casting the residents of Podhale as Greek philosophers, and their language is pure Highlander dialect.

I have it in audio version, read with Highlander flair by the Author.
Stylistically, a masterpiece.
Regarding the Church itself and Tischner, everyone can have their own opinion.
Simple faith and action is, after all, called philosophy.
