David Farland - The Sum of All Men

This series is an easy read, a classic take on fantasy. We have sorcerers, knights, and dragons :-) Just kidding, there are no dragons, only Raubens!

One concept that drew me to this series was the ability to combine a person's abilities/physical traits. It was something I'd never encountered in fantasy, and you could say it "hooked me." It adds a dynamic element to the series. It means we never know which side currently has the upper hand or what the characters' fates will be. And it's quite a bit of reading, as the series spans six volumes.

So if you're in the mood for a truly classic fantasy story with knights, conflicts, journeys, and a Greater Threat lurking in the background that can only be defeated by... then give "The Sum of All Men" a chance.

I devoured the book immediately. Gaborn's world completely resonated with me. I realize that not everyone will like David Farlad's world. I am delighted. I've already bought the next installment and am looking for more. Magicians, creatures, war, and love—this is the best kind of literature. I recommend it.

The second installment in the series, in my opinion, is slightly better than its predecessor. There's much more action, the characters are interesting, and the world is quite impressive. Of course, there are elements that irritate me, but they're few and don't detract from the enjoyment of reading. Furthermore, the author has added a touch of philosophy; it's clear what drives the characters' actions.

The book was bought for a few pennies on sale in some bookstore, basically by mistake - the titles matched, the author is not the same, but it turned out to be interesting, at first it was difficult to understand - it is the 3rd volume of the series, but after reading it I can confidently say that I will definitely read the previous two at some point :)
