Pilla Reading Corner: Alfred Szklarski - The Adventures of Tomek Wilmowski
Today's series might be more for a younger audience; I wondered if it wasn't too old-fashioned.
However, it seems to me that the content and message of these books are still universally valid.
The year is 1902. Tomek, the son of a revolutionary, is sent into exile to his father.
This begins a series of adventures, with each volume taking us to a different region of the world. Each volume contains excellent descriptions of flora, fauna, and a variety of interesting places.
Even though it is youth literature, I recommend it to everyone, regardless of age.
Let's now look at how Alfred Szklarski's Tomek series has been received by other readers and what opinions can be found on the lubimyczytac.pl website:
An adventure classic that was read with joy!

I read the books in my youth/childhood during a long illness. To put it bluntly, this whole series was a lifeline and a welcome distraction for me as a young girl. I loved them, which is an understatement – I simply embarked on the journey with Tomek and his friends. Thanks to these books, I actually got well again.
