Pill-Reading Corner: Dan Simmons – The Hyperion Cantos
- by Daniel Pawlik
Oh, what an adventure! My friend persuaded me to read this book. At first, I found it difficult, but from page 100, I couldn't put it down. It's definitely the best science fiction book I've ever read. The unconventional approach to the subject, the many intertwined storylines that come together to form a whole – simply magnificent.

What a wonderful novel! I already know the author from some books – "The Terror" I liked very much, it's a masterpiece, I would give it 10 out of 10 points. But it's just a taste of the next volumes. The universe created by Simmons is fantastic, the cooperation between AI and humans, the way we travel through space… simply incredible! I haven't encountered such concepts since "Dune." And besides, it's an incredible journey into the world of romance (Keats). I am enchanted and it's among my top 10. I can only recommend it!

A wonderful continuation of Hyperion. Thrilling and unexpected twists. The entire four-part Hyperion/Endymion series is worth reading multiple times; you can pick it up again and again. With each reading, the story becomes clearer and we enjoy it even more intensely.

The book of my life! A masterpiece! I consider both parts simply the pinnacle of world literature. It's not just perfect fantasy/science fiction. It captivates with beauty and depth. I believe this book will still be relevant even in 500 years, when we have conscious, AI-based androids and a colonized Mars – or even beyond.

Nest of Tables – What Are They, Who Are They For and How to Style Them
Do you remember Sunday visits to your nan's, when the nest of tables came out from beside the armchair? Three little tables, each tucked neatly under the next, were pulled apart and handed round – one for the teapot, one for the biscuit tin and one for Grandad's crossword – and then slid back together the moment everyone went home.

Bookcase Ideas – How to Choose and Style a Bookshelf for Your Living Room
Do you remember the bookcase in your grandparents' front room? Rows of faded paperbacks, a set of encyclopaedias nobody ever finished, holiday souvenirs, a framed school photo and that one heavy atlas you pulled out on rainy afternoons. It was never styled for anyone – and yet it told the whole story of the family.
