"Happy events, as well as misfortunes, reportedly never come alone." - Hanna Ożogowska - "The Girl and the Boy, or a Big Mess"

Today, a very summery, probably somewhat forgotten young adult novel.

Few people know that before the trend of role/body swapping in books/movies, we also had this theme explored in our literature.

So we have siblings, Tosia and Tomek, we have summer holidays and the time for each of them to go to different family towns.

What happens if each of them goes not where they should? How will Tosia manage at Uncle Stefan's forester's lodge, and Tomek at Aunt Isia's, helping with small children?

A warm and humorous book, also a journey back to life in the Polish People's Republic.

And how do other readers on lubimyczytac.pl recall this summer story? Let's see what opinions this somewhat forgotten, but still smile-inducing novel left behind:

The book of my childhood! I hope my daughters will read it too.

Great, funny, that world won't come back, but both the idea and execution are charming, light, and amusing.

A very good read for young readers. Funny, written in simple language, engaging. As a child, reading it made me dream of having a twin brother! :)

Small Bedroom Ideas – How to Make the Most of a Compact Bedroom

Some of the most memorable bedrooms aren't the biggest ones.
