Proof that Tolkien built his world with great detail and grandeur.

Nothing bad will happen if we place "The Silmarillion" on the same shelf as Greek, Roman, Norse, or Egyptian Myths; I believe it deserves the same place in culture.

I mostly listened to the audiobook, but it was still an interesting and worthwhile collection of stories about all the events before The Lord of the Rings - the author outlined the world as if he were a chronicler who had gone to another world and wanted to tell what happened where he came from, well-drawn background of events, heroes, and the fight between good and evil.
