"Only the mad can survive."

The topic of apocalypse in pop culture: Mad Max, Fallout, Twisted Metal are just a few examples, and today I wanted to share with you a gem from my childhood, namely the paragraph game - Highway Warrior.

You could say it's neither a dog nor an otter, but what it's about is that we get a book that we don't read from beginning to end - we get an adventure :-)

After filling out a few final pages, preferably in pencil, we begin the game. After reading the first few pages, the author allows us to decide what to do next. Each choice we make sends us to a completely different page, where we continue reading. Each decision is related to our health points, equipment, and everything we filled out on the final pages.

Even though I vaguely remember the plot and probably cheated a bit with health points, I do remember one thing: it was truly a lot of fun. Whether or not anyone would choose to experience the adventure with a book and a pencil today, in a world where it's much easier to set up a VR headset/play a game on a console/watch a movie, I'll leave it to you.

Now let's check what other readers on Lubimyczytac.pl think about the Highway Warrior.

The game's atmosphere stems from the 1980s, with the entire action taking place in a post-apocalyptic world, in the then-United States, specifically in Texas. The game doesn't carry any far-fetched, deep ideology or pacifist message. This is 300% gameplay. A brilliant and dynamic paragraph game. Your choices and luck will determine whether you survive or perish... This reissue is brilliantly executed!

I borrowed it from the school library as a child. I spent entire evenings trying to get through the book to the end without losing it :D Great. It's always nice to revisit it.

Finally, it's worth adding that the book also caused quite a stir at our company, Pillovely – we spent a long time exchanging impressions and comparing our choices. See for yourself ;)

How to clean a mattress? Home remedies for stains, dust mites and unpleasant odours

A mattress sees more than any other piece of furniture in the house — sweat from night sweats, morning coffee drunk in bed, cat hair from a cat who stubbornly chooses the same spot for a nap. The problem is that while we change our bedding regularly, it's easy to forget about the mattress itself — until the day we notice a stain or feel that something in the bedroom smells different than it should.
