One of the last books I read, thanks to the kindness of a good friend.
A novel about life, growing up, and passing away, with World War II in the background. Perhaps it doesn't have a full plot with many twists and turns or surprising narrative developments.
However, something makes it (read: the author's talent/craft) a very enjoyable read, and the descriptions of life in the countryside/city allow us to feel the spirit of those times. Tragic times (World War II), in which life nevertheless had to go on and did, and feelings, daily worries, concerns, and desires are here, alongside the characters, as equal protagonists of this novel.
However, read with great concentration, because frequent narrative jumps require the reader to pay attention and be patient with this story. In my opinion, it's worth it.
